What is your opinion on the trial of Michael Jackson's family to sue the entertainment company for negligence for $40 billion dollars concerning Michael Jackson's death?
I think if the entertainment company really has a role in the death of Michael Jackson, they should be punished for it. According to the entertainment company, he was already taking propofol to sleep at night, so yes he could've caused his own death if he withheld this information from the company, but if the entertainment company AEG overworked him knowing that he had a condition, then they should be punished accordingly for it.
I question the family's motive for pursuing this case. Maybe I am being too cynical, but I feel like they are really in it for the money. This trial could potentially stir up a lot of shady secrets in Michael Jackson's past, so why would the family want to ruin his reputation by pursuing this case four years after his death? Also, I don't know if 40 billion is reasonable. Even if the entertainment company knew about Michael Jackson's bad health conditions, it was Michael Jackson's decision to go on tour.
In my opinion, the Jackson family is overreacting. Michael died four years ago, his death was determined to be an accident, and his personal doctor was arrested because of negligence to Michael. His children requested a 40 billion dollars payment under the suspicion that the entertainment company plotted Michael’s death, but is it really worth it to dig into the dark secrets in Michael’s path? If they claim they love Michael, then don’t they let Michael rest in peace and honour his name? In conclusion, I believe his children’s motive is mostly likely directed towards profit than truth.
I think that the Jackson family is dragging out Michael's death far too long. He made so much money that they are quite wealthy people. If in fact that his children were the ones who want the case I think that it is foolish for the family to enforce this, and it is unhealthy to allow Michael Jackson's children from moving on from his death. Like the media said I strongly believe this case will end badly for the Jackson family, as secrets will be spilled because the entertainment company will not give the family such a large sum of money without putting up a fight.
