I believe gun control measures will make a slight difference in American society. Taking in account Dante's statistics, it is highly improbable that banning assault rifles and having background checks will significantly affect murders and crime in the US. However, every little step counts. Even if the new policies can only prevent one homicide, it would still be making a tiny difference. Although the comic ridicules the gun control policies, it still shows that there are things being done to prevent future massacres and lower gun violence. While I think stricter laws would be more effective, the current gun control measures are certainly making a (small) difference.
I think that gun control methods will make a difference in the amount of deaths in America. I don't think that it will be anything incredible like 20 or more percent, more likely something in the area of 1 to 2 percent, but every little bit counts. With gun control laws in effect, people will not be able to obtain guns as easily as they were before. Therefore fewer people will have guns simply because of the inconvenience. Due to the pro-gun culter in the USA many people will still have guns, but with fewer guns in circulation there is a lower chance that accidents or gun related homicides will happen and the number of gun-related deaths will decrease.
I don’t think gun control will have any significant influence on the rate of murder or other crimes. For one thing, people who want to do crimes can always find ways to obtain guns.
Yes, depending upon the level and the measures taken. We do have gun control, to a certain extent, today but society and the world is changing. We may have to consider more, stricter, limitations on gun ownership or transportation. The US is not the "wild west" anymore and there will never be enough protection for the average person as long as guns can be bought, carried and used at someone's own personal perspective or opinion.
